Olaf F. Walter, PhD, Becomes First Member of iDiverse’s Business and Scientific Advisory Board

Del Mar, CA, January 2, 2006 – iDiverse today announced that Dr. Olaf F. Walter became the first member of the Company’s newly created Business and Scientific Board. 

“It is truly my pleasure to welcome Dr. Walter to our group,” said John Burr, president and chief executive officer of iDiverse. “His broad experience in chemical manufacturing, engineering, and bioproduction will help us create the best products to meet industrial end-user needs.”

“It’s exciting to have the opportunity to work with the talented people at iDiverse and to contribute to the development and commercialization of technology with broad potential applications,” said Dr. Walter. “Applying my experiences in large organizations to help solve some of the entrepreneurial challenges of a small company will hopefully accelerate iDiverse on the road to commercialization.”

Dr. Olaf Walter was educated as a chemical engineer in Germany and earned his PhD in Public Health Engineering from Portsmouth Polytechnic, Portsmouth, Great Britain. He has 20+ years experience mainly at The Dow Chemical Company where he was responsible for a wide variety of operations including most recently Senior Technology Leader of Manufacturing and Engineering for Dow’s Industrial Biotechnology Business. Dr. Walter’s expertise spans fermentation technologies, whole plant derived bioproduction, chemical manufacturing, process development, business and competitive analysis, and sophisticated economic modeling.
