Richard Schneeberger, PhD, Named Head of Technology Development at iDiverse
Del Mar, CA, November 6, 2006 – iDiverse today announced that Dr. Richard Schneeberger has joined the company as Head of Technology Development.
"We are sincerely happy to have Dr. Schneeberger join us and assume responsibility for our technology development,” said John Burr, president and CEO of iDiverse. “Dr. Schneeberger is well suited to this challenge as he has spent the past ten years at Ceres where he played a significant role in establishing their functional genomics technologies and genomics based product development. His experiences in robotic systems, bioinformatics, and high throughput screening will apply directly to our technology development plan.”
“I am happy to have the opportunity to work with the iDiverse team to develop this exciting technology”, said Dr. Schneeberger. “Because of the very unique nature of the core technology, I believe that we will be able to leverage the investment in its development into a wide variety of commercially relevant applications. There are not many technologies that hold this breadth of promise.”
In addition to his contributions to Ceres, Dr. Schneeberger had Post Doctoral Fellowships at the University of California, Berkeley where his work on corn genetics was supported by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. and the N.I.H. Dr. Schneeberger graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York College with a BS in recombinant gene technology and earned his PhD in molecular genetics from Case Western Reserve University. He is the co-inventor on one issued patent and the named inventor on 22 patent applications, and is widely published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
